Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1)  What is ChronoLeap?
ChronoLeap is a virtual experience that uses the 1964/65 New York World’s Fair as a backdrop to explore themes in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

2)  Is this a historical recreation of the 1964/65 New York World’s Fair?
No, it is not designed as a historical recreation – the Fairgrounds are a setting that permits the story of ChronoLeap to unfold.

3)  Does that mean the buildings are just the pavilions in name only?
No, when you explore the Fairgrounds the buildings have the look and feel of their original 1964/65 counterparts. But at times we needed to incorporate additional STEM content and that led to billboards and other objects being added.

4)  What year does ChronoLeap take place in?
There are two years – you begin in 2064 as the Queens Museum of Art is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Fair and then ChronoLeap back to 1964 to recover all the artifacts, stop the time anomaly and restore the proper progress of time.

5)  What happens if you are not successful?
Initially, Flushing Meadows Park will revert to what it was before the 1939/40 New York World’s Fair – a garbage/ash dump.  But do not worry – you can always try again!

6)  What are the Discovery Games on the website?
These are in depth games that address a STEM topic centered on a pavilion’s theme.    For example, the Sinclair Dinoland Pavilion offers an opportunity to go beyond the STEM found within Dinoland and virtually discover dinosaur fossils. There are many of these additional games in the Discovery Games area on the website.

7)  Is the website finished?
No, we will always be adding pages to the website based on topics found with the Fair.
